HLSP has a dedicated team managing the NMC quality
assurance programme. The team is made up of both technical and
operational staff.
The core team consists of:
Janet James - Director of
Reviews
Janet is a registered adult and specialist community public health
nurse - health visitor and has a recordable teaching qualification.
She has senior experience in education and curriculum development
at the School of Nursing and Midwifery, University of Sheffield. As
Head of Department she was responsible for the delivery of a wide
range of pre and post registration programmes and as Head of
Curriculum Development she oversaw the planning and design of new
undergraduate and master’s degree programmes and securing of NMC
approval.
In addition to this she has significant international experience
working in highly politicised advisory and project management
environments. This has included leading a national project to
strengthen nurse education and service management in Bangladesh and
advising on the delivery of primary health care services for poor
people in China.
Diane Barrowclough
- Assistant Director of Reviews
Diane is a registered nurse and a registered midwife and has a
recordable teaching qualification. She practiced as a midwife for
12 years before gaining employment as a Midwifery Lecturer and
moving to the University of Bradford a Senior Lecturer.
She is an experienced educationalist and has been programme leader
for both pre and post registration programmes at undergraduate and
master’s degree level and has experience in curriculum development,
validation and implementation. She has a special interest in
problem-based learning and has developed a problem-based learning
curriculum. As well as being an HLSP reviewer prior to this
secondment she has been a QAA reviewer and external examiner for
several institutions.
Louise Parr -
Operations Manager
Louise is the HLSP Operations Manager for the NMC contract. She is
a skilled project and programme manager who is experienced in
developing close and effective working relationships with both
clients and consultants. Louise has excellent communication skills
and a commitment to delivering an excellent service. Louise has
responsibility for the operational arrangements for both approval
and monitoring quality assurance visits to institutions.
Nicole Rudman - Project
Officer
Nicole is experienced in delivering excellent customer service and
has effective communication skills. She is one of two Project
Officers currently working on the HLSP contract with the Nursing
and Midwifery Council reviewing Quality Assurance (QA) in Education
Providers. Her role includes identifying reviewers to carry out QA
approval or monitoring visits in Education Providers around
England, Scotland and Northern Ireland. She deals with enquiries
from institutions and reviewers, offering support and advice on the
administration process of the programme. Nicole also assists the
Operations Manager in developing effective procedures for
deployment and administration in relation to QA activities.
Jemma Dodd - Project
Officer
Jemma has experience within customer service and project
administration. She is one of two Project Officers currently
working on the HLSP contract within the Nursing and Midwifery
Council reviewing Quality Assurance (QA) in Education Providers.
Her role includes indentifying reviewers to carry out QA approval
or monitoring visits in Education Providers around England,
Scotland and Northern Ireland. She deals with enquiries from
institutions and reviewers, offering support and advise on the
administration process of the programme.
